Terms of Service

Welcome to Yukon Find. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of yukonfind.com (the “Service”), operated by an independent sole proprietor based in Yukon, Canada (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Yukon Find is — and is not

Yukon Find is a local online marketplace where Yukon residents can list, discover, and inquire about items and services. We are a venue only. We are not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. We do not own, inspect, store, ship, or deliver listed items; we do not process payments between buyers and sellers; and we do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing. Transactions — including payment, pickup, and any warranties or returns — are arranged directly between buyer and seller, at their own risk. Any dispute arising from a transaction is between the buyer and the seller.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 19 years old (the age of majority in Yukon) to create an account, or use the Service under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. You are responsible for your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Listings and seller responsibilities

Sellers are solely responsible for their listings: the description, photos, price, availability, and the legality of the item or service offered. You may not list anything that is illegal to sell under Canadian federal, territorial, or local law, including but not limited to: firearms and other regulated weapons; illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia; counterfeit or stolen goods; recalled products; hazardous materials; wildlife parts whose sale is restricted; and anything that infringes another person’s intellectual property. We may remove any listing at our discretion, with or without notice.

4. The “Verified Yukoner” badge

The Verified Yukoner badge indicates only that the seller confirmed control of a phone number via SMS at the time of verification. It is not an endorsement, a guarantee of identity, trustworthiness, or quality, or a promise about any transaction. Always exercise the same caution you would with any private sale: meet in public places, inspect items before paying, and be wary of requests for payment before you have seen the item.

5. Reviews and user content

You retain ownership of the content you post (listings, photos, messages, reviews), and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. Reviews must reflect your genuine experience. Content that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing, hateful, or spam may be removed, and repeat offenders may be banned.

6. Paid features (boosts)

Sellers may purchase optional “boosts” that promote a listing for a fixed period. Boost prices are shown at checkout, in Canadian dollars, inclusive of applicable sales tax, and processed by Stripe. Boost fees are non-refundable once the boost is active, except at our discretion or where required by law. Boosts promote visibility only; they do not constitute our endorsement of a listing.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; harvest other users’ contact information; send spam; misrepresent your identity; interfere with the operation or security of the Service; or attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any listing is accurate or lawful.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from a transaction between users, from user content, or from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of CA$50 and the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your listings, your content, your transactions, or your breach of these Terms.

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms from time to time; the effective date above will change and material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You may close your account at any time; we may suspend or terminate the Service or any account for breach of these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Yukon and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Yukon. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Yukon.
